The 5 principles are:
1) Eat Less, Move More (EAT MOST OF THE TIME)
2) Don’t Forget About Your Diet! (MUST EAT MORE than you burn!)
3) Get Enough Sleep (MUST GET AT LEAST 7 HOURS A NIGHT!
4) Exercise Regularly (MUST DO EXERCISES 3x/WEEK!
5) Take Care Of Yourself!
(MUST HAVE ENOUGH FUN TO LIVE!)
These 5 principles are what I call the “Five Pillars” of Weight Loss. They are the most effective ways to lose weight without starving yourself or going crazy. You will need to follow these five rules if you want to get rid of those extra pounds. If you don’t follow them, then your body won’t accept it and your efforts will fail miserably.
The first principle is simple: eat less, move more!
You have probably heard many times that you must not forget about your diet.
But why? Why do you need to eat less when you can just walk around all day long?
Well, the answer is quite simple: because there’s no point in being fat if you’re not moving around much at all. Walking around means sitting down and doing nothing; therefore, eating less doesn’t work very well. You need both.
The second principle is related to the first one: you must eat more than you burn!
One of the main reasons why people have a hard time losing weight is because they eat less. In fact, they sometimes eat considerably less than they burn; this is a serious problem. When your body doesn’t get enough fuel (energy) to survive, it will go into hibernation mode and store as much energy as possible. It doesn’t know when you will eat again, so it prepares for the worst; this is your body’s natural way of “self-preservation”. If you want to get rid of those extra pounds, you need to eat more than you burn.
Your diet should consist of about 500 extra calories than your recommended intake.
The third principle is also very important: You must get enough sleep!
How much sleep do you need?
This is a common question that may have a different answer for everyone. What is important here is not the amount of time you sleep, but the quality. Try to get enough sleep so that, when morning comes, you wake up feeling energetic and ready to take on the day.
The fourth principle is also very important: You must exercise regularly!
Yes, exercising can help you lose weight/fat. And no, you don’t need to go out and buy expensive stuff, either. Even if you take a 30 minute walk every other day or jog in your neighborhood, you will notice great improvements in not only your weight, but in your overall well-being. By exercising on a regular basis, not only will you burn fat, but you will also keep your metabolism from slowing down. If your metabolism slows down, it will be much harder for you to lose weight.
