7 Reasons You Aren’t Losing Weight (or Keeping It Off)
1. Your Body Type Is Not Slim-Fit
You are not slim-fit because your body type is not one of those which is defined by being lean and muscular. A person’s body type reflects their overall health and fitness level.
If you want to lose weight, then it would be better if you have a healthy lifestyle rather than trying to change your body shape through exercise or dieting.
2. Muscle Building Foods Are Hard To Find
The main reason why you aren’t losing weight is because you don’t eat enough protein and fat. Protein helps build muscles while fats are used for energy.
There are many types of food which contain both proteins and fats but they all differ in terms of their nutritional value. Some foods contain high amounts of protein and some low ones, so it makes sense to choose the right kind based on your needs.
3. Dieting Will Make You Fat Again
Dieting will make you gain weight again after you get rid of excess pounds. It isn’t easy to lose weight when you are already overweight, so it is better to stick with a healthy eating habit instead of trying to change your body shape through exercise or dieting.
If you want to keep your current size, then it would be better if you don’t try any drastic measures such as dieting or exercise.
4. You Have Muscle-Weight
You don’t lose weight because you have a lot of muscle in your body. Muscles are heavier than fat, so this is why you think that you haven’t lost any weight even though you’ve been exercising and dieting.
If you want to know whether you have muscle-weight or not, then you should weigh yourself before and after doing some exercise and eating only food which contains proteins and fats for a certain period of time. If you still don’t see any difference, then you have muscle-weight and you shouldn’t worry about it.
5. You Are Not Drinking Enough Water
If you aren’t drinking enough water, then this can cause your body to retain water which can make you look bloated. It is recommended to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day in order to prevent this from happening.
6. You Are Drinking The Wrong Things
Drinking the wrong things can also cause your body to retain water, just like in the above point. Examples of these wrong things are: alcohol, coffee, tea and soda.
If you want to get rid of bloat, then it is recommended to avoid drinking these.
7. You Haven’t Reduced Your Carb Intake
Your body will not lose weight if you don’t reduce your carb intake. You can eat all the proteins and fats that you want, but you won’t see any weight loss results if you keep eating carbs.
It is recommended to avoid bread, pasta, rice and similar foods which contain high amount of carbs.
8. You Eat The Wrong Proteins And Fats
Your body can’t use all types of proteins and fats the same way. Eating the wrong types of these can cause you to gain weight instead of losing it.
For example, eating fried food can clog your arteries and prevent the blood from reaching various parts of your body, which can make you gain weight. It is recommended to eat boiled foods or foods which are baked instead of fried.
9. You Are Attending The Wrong Type Of Exercise
Your body can’t get any benefits from the exercise that you do if you are attending the wrong type of it. For example, aerobics can make you lose weight but only temporarily.
This is because this type of exercise encourages the burning of carbs instead of fats, which means that your weight will go up again as soon as you start eating carbs. It is recommended to avoid aerobics in order to lose weight and instead do exercises such as running and jogging.
10. You Are Doing Too Much Of Exercise
Exercising is good for losing weight, but doing too much of it can actually cause you to gain weight instead. This is because exercise increases your metabolism, which means that your body will require more energy in order to sustain it.
If you exercise too much, then your body will think that there is a shortage of food and as a result it will start storing whatever food you eat as fats for later use. This is why you shouldn’t exercise for more than an hour per day.
11. You Are Not Getting Enough Sleep
Sleeping is very important when trying to lose weight. This is because your body releases certain hormones during sleep which regulate your metabolism.
If you don’t get enough sleep, then you won’t produce enough of these hormones, and this can cause your body to start storing the food that you eat as fats instead of burning them. It is recommended that you sleep for at least 7 hours every day in order to help your body with weight loss.
12. You Aren’t Eating Healthily
Eating a lot of junk food can make you put on weight, especially if you are eating a lot of it. Even if you are exercising a lot, the calories that junk food contains can easily prevent you from losing weight.
It is recommended to avoid junk food as much as possible, and eat healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables instead.
13. You Are Not Drinking Enough Water
Your body consists of more than 60% water, and in order to perform certain functions properly, it needs a constant supply of it. One of these functions is the burning of fats.
In order to burn fats, your body requires a sufficient amount of water. If you do not drink enough water, then the combustion process will not take place effectively and ultimately this can cause you to gain weight. It is recommended that you drink at least 1 – 1.5 liters of water per day in order to maintain an adequate supply of it within your body.
14. You Are Eating At The Wrong Times
Eating at the wrong time can also cause you to gain weight. This is because your body goes through a number of processes before it allows you to feel hungry.
Certain hormones are released which cause you to feel hungry, and only after passing through a complex process will your body allow you to satisfy this feeling. If you eat at the wrong time, then the hormones which are released to make you feel hungry will start overlapping with others that are released as a response to eating. As a result, you will feel hungry again shortly after eating. This can cause you to eat more often than you normally would, ultimately causing you to gain weight.
15. You Aren’t Drinking Any Water
Drinking water can help you lose weight, but only if you are drinking it at the right time. One of the keys to losing weight is eating lots of fruits and vegetables.
However, these foods contain a lot of fiber, and eating a lot of it will cause bloating and discomfort. Drinking water will help you go to the bathroom more often and will flush out all the waste that your body does not need. Drinking water is essential for good health, and it can help you lose weight as well. Just make sure that you are drinking water at the right times.
16. You Aren’t Strength Training
Those people who are trying to lose weight need to exercise, but they don’t all need to exercise in the same way.
