Creative Dieting: Clean Eating Doesn’t Have to Be Boring
How To Eat Healthy Without Getting Bored?
In the past few years, there have been many changes in our lives. People are now living longer, so they need to live healthier. They want to enjoy their life more than ever before. So they try different things like going out less or working from home. However, some people still don’t feel like they’re doing enough. They want to do more, but aren’t sure what it would entail.
What if I told you that you could eat the same foods every day and not get bored? What if I told you that you wouldn’t even notice any difference in your life?
You might think this sounds too good to be true, but here’s why it actually isn’t:
The Food Is Still Delicious!
If you’ve eaten at restaurants, then you know that the food tastes awful. If it doesn’t taste great, then it probably wasn’t cooked right. And when you cook something wrong, it just tastes bad.
But if you eat at home, then the food will taste better than anything else out there! Even better than organic vegetables!
Why go through all the trouble of buying organic produce when you can buy fresh and delicious food made from whole ingredients?
The truth is that you don’t need to eat organic vegetables if you cook them right. By cooking them right, you can get the most out of the nutrients and vitamins in them. The taste will be much better than if you were to eat them raw. And that’s why eating at home can be a lot better than you’d expect.
Try new recipes! You’ll always be able to find new ideas online or from friends. Try them out and see how they turn out.
You might be surprised on how scrumptious home-made food can be.
You Can Save More Money
It’s not always about taste; it’s also about your wallet! Eating at home is a great way to save money. It’s not even that hard of a process, either.
If you go to the store once or twice a week, you should be able to get all the supplies you need for the week.
If you get your groceries at the right time, then you can save a lot more money. Some grocery stores offer specials on certain food items. You can stock up on these items when they’re not as expensive.
That way, you have enough food to last you for several days or even weeks!
The food at home will always be cheaper than going out to eat. That’s because restaurants have to pay their employees and a bunch of other fees. All you really have to do is buy the food, which costs a lot less.
Instead of meeting up with friends or going out on a date, you can just cook at home! It’s a great way to save money and impress the people you care about.
Cooking is a Valuable Life Skill
It may seem silly to learn how to cook your own food, but it’s actually a really good life skill to have. Not only will you save money, you’ll also impress people with your mad cooking skillz.
It’s not that hard to become a good cook. Just practice and read recipes carefully and you’ll be able to cook anything! If you mess up, don’t sweat it!
As long as you haven’t burned your food (which is pretty easy to do), then you can still eat it. You might even learn how to make the dish differently next time.
You can also cook for other people. It’s a great way to make new friends or even impress a crush! Nothing says love like home-cooking.
Other people might think you’re strange if you offer to cook for them, but it never hurts to try! Who knows, they might just be hungry.
So keep on cooking and eating at home! You’ll not only save money, but also have fun while doing it.
Whether you’re dining at a fancy restaurant or preparing food at home, there are several easy and practical ways to save money on food. It all begins with planning and preparation, which is what this chapter is all about. In this chapter, you’ll learn different tips and tricks when it comes to buying food, perishable and non-perishable items, and how to organize everything so that you’re always prepared.
The first step to saving money on food is to plan your meals. You don’t have to do this indefinitely, but you should do it long enough to establish a routine. The more prepared you are, the easier it’ll be for you to save money in the future.
You can even write down everything you want to eat during a week and then go buy the supplies!
This all starts with deciding what you’re in the mood to eat. It can be anything from pizza to peanut butter sandwiches. Once you figure out what you want to eat, it’s time to go to the store and buy everything you need in order to cook that meal.
If there are any leftovers, put them in the fridge and eat them during the week.
Along with planning your meals for the week, you should also purchase the ingredients for each meal separately. That way, you can buy exactly what you need and nothing more. Buying in bulk can be a great way to save money, but only if you’re going to consume everything before it expires.
Otherwise, you’re basically throwing your money away.
If all of this sounds difficult or confusing, don’t worry too much about it. After awhile, you’ll begin to establish your own routine and find out what works best for you.
When it comes to buying food, one of the easiest ways to save money is by buying what’s in-season. Certain foods are less expensive during certain times of the year. So if you want to save as much money as possible, you’ll buy these in-season goods and eat foods that are only available at that time.
This will require some research on your part, but it’s definitely worth it. Just look up what fruits and vegetables are in-season during a certain month and plan out your meals around those foods. Not only will this save you money, but it’ll help prevent food waste as well.
Buy Grocery Store Sales
One of the most important factors to saving money at the grocery store is to pay attention to all of the sale advertisements. This includes sales on non-food items such as toilet paper and laundry detergent. Whenever you shop for groceries, you should have a list of all the sale items and purchase those.
Never go grocery shopping without a list.
In addition to in-store sales, you should also take part in store rewards programs. Supermarkets offer these for their loyal customers and they can save you a ton of money if you use them properly. However, in order to use them properly, you need to pay attention to expiration dates.
Always look at the expiration date before buying anything.
Join A Warehouse Club
Warehouse clubs are stores that sell items in bulk. These items are mostly food and other grocery store items that are in-demand. By joining a warehouse club, you’ll be able to purchase these items at discounted prices.
In addition, many of these warehouse clubs offer substantial discounts to their members. You can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars every year by taking advantage of these warehouse clubs.
However, warehouse clubs require an annual membership fee and the amount you’ll save by shopping there doesn’t justify this fee in all cases. It really just depends on how much you’re going to save by taking advantage of these clubs. If you think the membership fee is worth it, then go for it.
If not, it’s probably not worth it.
Cook At Home
The more you cook at home, the more money you’ll save. In addition to this, you’ll be consuming fewer calories and less fat. This is a win-win situation for you.
Of course, you’re probably eating out at restaurants quite a bit. If that’s the case, you might want to cut back on that and start bringing leftovers for lunch or just packing a lunch altogether.
One of the most cost-effective foods that you can cook at home is pasta. All you really need is water and you can season it anyway that you want. Pasta is filling, nutritious, and relatively cheap.
In addition to pasta, you can also cook beans, potatoes, and rice at home. These are some of the cheapest foods that you can buy. If you cook at home more often, you’ll end up saving quite a bit of money as opposed to eating out.
Learn To Grow Your Own Food
If you have a yard, learn how to grow your own food. Not only will this save you money in the long run, but it’ll provide you with some much needed exercise as well. In addition to this, you’ll be doing your part to help save the environment by wasting less water.
Growing your own food is a win-win situation and can help you save quite a bit of money. All you really need to get started is a little knowledge and some soil.
There are a lot of ways that you can grow your own food. You could plant fruits, vegetables, or even herbs. If you don’t have a yard, there’s always flower pots that you can use to grow things.
If you have absolutely nothing, you could start by growing mint in a small container on your windowsill. Once you get the hang of it, you could start expanding. Just go online or go to your local library to learn more!
Grow Your Own Food
Find a Farmer’s Market
Farmer’s markets are one of the best places to get fruits, vegetables, and even meats. You’ll find deals galore at these markets. In addition to finding great deals, you’re also supporting local farmers which is always a plus.
These markets usually take place once or twice a week depending on where you live.
If you have trouble finding these markets, just do a quick search online. Most markets will have their days and times posted on their website. If not, you can always call them to ask.
These markets are worth checking out as they can save you quite a bit of money and are very convenient as most of the items are sold right off the farm.
Grow Your Own Food – (Bonus Tip! )
This is a last resort option. If you’ve tried everything else and you really can’t seem to cut back on your spending no matter how hard you try, it might be time to think about growing your own food altogether. While this may sound like a drastic step to take, you’d be surprised with how easy it can be.
All you really need are some seeds and enough space to plant them in. If you have a yard, your options are virtually endless. If you don’t have a yard, you could always look into getting some plants for your apartment. Here are some ideas that you might find useful:
Tomatoes: Tomatoes are relatively easy to grow. All you really need is some soil, fertilizer, water, and of course, the tomato seeds. Plant the seeds early in the spring (or late winter) and keep them watered.
Once they start to grow, you’ll have to take the extra step of caging them. This can be done by buying some chicken wire or whatever else you have around the house that could work. Once these are caged, they shouldn’t get out of control. Tomatoes take a while to grow, so you won’t be able to reap the benefits until summertime. It will be worth it, though! Just make sure you keep them caged and watered.
Count your pennies and your dollars will count themselves.
