What Is Speed Training?
Speed training is the term used to refer to any type of exercise or workout designed to improve your performance in sports, such as running, swimming, cycling and other activities. There are many different types of speed training programs; however most of them consist of two main components: aerobic (or aerobic endurance) and anaerobic (or anaerobic endurance). Aerobic means “oxygenated” and refers to the use of oxygen during physical activity. Anaerobic means “without oxygen.” These terms mean that there is no way to produce energy from the body’s own sources without using some form of external source, such as carbohydrates, fats or proteins.
The first step in any type of speed training program is to determine how much time you have available each day. If you do not have enough time then it would be better if you just do nothing at all.
However, if you do have sufficient time then it is recommended that you spend some of it doing specific exercises. For example, if you only have 20 minutes per day then it would be best to spend those 20 minutes working out one particular muscle group every single day.
Aerobic Endurance Workouts Are Better Than Anaerobic Exercises Because They Require Less Time And Can Be Done More Often
Anaerobic exercises involve the breakdown of glucose into carbon dioxide and water. This process does not require the use of oxygen.
On the other hand, aerobic exercises involves the breakdown of glucose into carbon dioxide and water. The process requires oxygen to be used as a catalyst. Depending on the type of activity, one or both types of energy systems must be developed.
Both types of energy systems can improve performance and speed in many sports and activities. However, anaerobic exercises require long periods of rest between sets because they leave the muscles temporarily fatigued.
This means that anaerobic exercises are only beneficial for short bursts of energy over a short period of time. In other words, it is very difficult to perform anaerobic exercises for long periods of times because fatigue will set in.
On the other hand, aerobic exercises do not cause as much fatigue and can be performed repeatedly with little or no rest between sets.
