Foam Rollers vs.
PNF Purgatory: Which One Will Save You?
The first thing I want to say is that if you are reading this then you probably have been told by your doctor or some other health professional that foam rolling does not work and it’s just a waste of time. Well, I’m here to tell you otherwise! If anything, it could save your life because it will allow you to get relief from pain without having surgery or drugs involved.
I’ve had two major surgeries (both successful) and I was prescribed several different types of medications for them. My second surgery was a hernia repair and I still take medication today to prevent flare ups.
When I went through my third surgery, which was a rotator cuff tear, I didn’t have any medical insurance so all of the prescriptions were paid out of pocket by me.
My point is, I am a very lucky guy. In fact, I think I may have lucked out since my body has responded well to the various treatments that I’ve received over the years.
However, there are many others who do not have such good fortune and they need to realize that their bodies aren’t going to respond favorably to these “alternative” methods of healing. They’re just going to heal themselves naturally with no help at all. (I guess you could say I’m of the “lucky” gene pool)
However, since I’ve been through all of this stuff and have dealt with the pain that comes along with it, I really feel like I need to spread the word. I’m a believer in alternative medicine and the power of the mind, but there are also many instances where it just doesn’t quite “cut it”.
