1.Eggs:

2. Beans:

Beans are generally known to be filling. This is the reason why you feel full after having a bowl of chili. Beans can form the basis of your meals if you are really trying to stick to a strict diet. They can be combined with eggs to make an exotic meal.

3. Brown Rice:

Brown rice is rich in fiber and is extremely healthy. It can be cooked with beans and served with some salsa for a complete meal. People generally prefer it over white rice since it is a lot healthier.

While white bread is not the best for you because it lacks nutritional value, whole wheat bread is the best option as far as bread is concerned. It is rich in fiber and can be used to make sandwiches or to have with your meals. You can also make grilled cheese sandwiches with it, which are extremely delicious.

6. Olive oil:

Olive oil is better than butter since it is easier to digest and contains a lot of health benefits. You can use it for baking or simply making a salad dressing. Olive oil is great for your heart and helps lower the risk of cancer.

7. Broccoli:

Broccoli is certainly one of the most nutritious foods on this planet. It is extremely healthy and can be eaten in unlimited quantities. You can have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner and you will not suffer any ill effects because of it.

Dealing with Stress and other Mental Health Issues

Stress is one of the leading causes of mental and physical illnesses. Some of these issues can be controlled by medication, while others may require long term treatment and counseling (You really should consider going). If you are suffering from stress or other mental illnesses such as anxiety, it is very important that you find ways of dealing with them.

One of the main reasons why people fail to succeed is due to the overwhelming stress they face on a day to day basis. Most of them fail to recognize the importance of taking time out for themselves and this is a very dangerous thing to do. They end up collapsing in the long term because they are unable to manage the stress, which leads to numerous issues. If you are suffering from stress right now, here are some steps that you should follow:

1. Learn to say “No”:

One of the best ways of reducing your stress levels is by simply learning to say “No”. Just because someone asks you to do something does not mean that you have to do it. Of course, you can choose to help them out if you really want to, but do not feel obligated otherwise. Learn to prioritize your tasks and obligations and stick to them.

For instance, if someone asks you to go out with them at night and this person is not a close friend, chances are you are not really obligated to help them. If you have other tasks that are more important, then you can simply dismiss this request. Saying “No” to things can be difficult for a lot of people, but it really is a necessity in order to reduce your stress levels.

2. Take time out for yourself:

Most people forget to take time out for themselves. They are so caught up in their jobs, their school work, their family issues and so on that they rarely take time out to just relax. This is a bad habit to have because this is going to lead to a great build up of stress and other mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.

Stress tends to affect us all differently. Some people’s stomach starts to turn, while some get pains in their head and others simply feel a large weight on their back. No matter what you feel, it is important that you find time to “switch off”. This means that you should take some time out of your day for yourself.

Do not think about your problems and just relax.

For some people, this means going out with friends and doing something fun. For others, this could just simply mean lying in bed and reading a book. It is important that you find out what “switching off” means to you and then actually taking the time out to do it.

3. Avoid Multitasking:

Most of the problems that people face in their day to day lives are due to the fact that they try to multitask. While it may be possible to do two or more things at the same time, in most cases this should not be done because it lowers efficiency in all of these tasks. If you are trying to read a book while walking then there is a good chance that you will fall down a flight of stairs.

Likewise, your brain can only really focus on one thing at a time. If you are reading a book then your brain is focused on reading the book and it will be difficult for you to concentrate on anything else. Some people think that listening to music or watching a movie while working helps them to concentrate better. In reality, it just divides their attention and most of their mental focus is not on the work that they are doing.

They are just pacified by the music and will not be operating at 100%.

Instead of multitasking, you should try to do one task at a time and give it your complete focus. This will help you to be more efficient in everything that you do.

4. Avoid the News:

If you are someone that constantly reads the news on a regular basis, then you may want to stop doing this for at least an hour each day. This may sound strange, but there is a reason behind it.

Your brain tends to keep things at the back of your mind. These are things that you know, but are not focused on currently. For instance, you probably know all of the countries of the world and their capitals, but this is just at the back of your mind and not something that you are actively thinking about.

Now, think about this. Each time you read the news, you are filling your mind up with a lot of information that you are not actively thinking about. This means that when you go to sleep, this will slowly come to the front of your mind. This means that you will most likely think about all of the bad things that are happening in the world such as terrorism, war, crime and so on.

This is not good for your mental health and can keep you awake at night.

Instead of reading the news first thing in the morning, it would be much better to read something happy such as a celebrity gossip magazine or website. This will then put positive thoughts into your mind before you go to sleep.

5. Exercise:

This one is quite simple and most people know about it, but they still do not do it. If you exercise on a regular basis, then your body and your mind will be much healthier and this will reduce the amount of stress that you feel on a daily basis. If you lead a sedentary lifestyle where you just sit around all day then this increases the amount of stress that you experience.

Ideally, you want to exercise on a daily basis, but at the very least, you need to do this twice a week. Anything is good, such as running, walking, cycling, swimming and so on. Even exercise that may not seem as if it is doing much such as yoga or Tai Chi can be great for your body and mind.

Ideally, you want to exercise in the morning or just a little before going to sleep, but this may not be possible for everyone. I know that when I was in the army, our days off always coincided with a day where we had to be up early and do physical exercise. This was one of the worst things about being in the army for me as I am not really a morning person and would much rather stay in bed for an extra hour rather than run around outside!

6. Keep Social:

Lastly, but probably one of the most beneficial things you can do is to keep in contact with friends and family on a regular basis. Communication with other people is important in life as this is what defines a person and without it, we are no longer human but a living breathing shell.

Now, I know that in this day and age, keeping in contact with people is easier than ever thanks to modern technology with things like the telephone, text messaging, social media and video calls. Despite this, a lot of people forget about the old fashioned way of having face to face conversations or sending a letter through the post.

When you receive a greeting card in the mail or a letter through your door from a friend or relative, don’t just throw it away! Take the time to read it and send a reply as most people would really appreciate this rather than an electronic message that can so easily be ignored.

If you don’t have penpals or any friends or family that you speak to on a daily basis, try getting some, especially if they live far away as this will provide you with a nice escape from your current situation. Seeing a different place and meeting new people will always be a good way to take your mind off the current events that may be plaguing you at home.

You can also try going out to meet new people such as joining a local club or taking an interest in a hobby that you can do with other people such as playing football or learning how to play an instrument.

You may think that people will ask you about why you are always smiling and say that you look like you are in a good mood, but the majority of people will not enquire as to why. Most people do not wish to pry into another person’s business and will leave you to your own devices unless you give them a reason to do so such as being open and inviting (But not too much!).

These are just a few suggestions that I can give you from my own personal experiences and I hope that they help you out in some way. Remember, your mind is a powerful tool and what you feed it will affect your overall well-being. So if you continuously give yourself reasons to smile and be happy, then that is what you will become!

You have all the potential in the world so don’t let anything hold you back and go out there and kick some arse!

Good luck with everything.

Your friend,

William.”

You finish reading the letter and put it back into the envelope. You then proceed to fold the envelope up and put it into your pocket before continuing with what you were originally doing. There is a slight sinking feeling in your stomach that you can’t quite get rid of, but it is soon overridden by your hunger when you smell the delicious food that has been prepared for you.

You give yourself a quick rub to make sure that the letter really is gone and then you happily tuck into the food before you, completely forgetting about the whole episode by the time that you are finished eating.

As for the letter, its future is uncertain. It may get lost in the mail, it may be destroyed by a corrupt official, it may find its way to its intended destination or it may even fall into the hands of someone who will read more into it than what is actually there.

Will the letter ever reach its intended recipient? Does it really matter?

The point is: don’t judge a book by its cover. There is always more to a situation than what meets the eye. And remember, every cloud has a silver lining.

But maybe that’s just the sun shining through the clouds….
