Friday Flicks: Acro Yoga with Briohny Smyth

Briohny Smyth is one of the most popular yoga teachers in the world. She was born in New York City, but she moved to Florida when she was little.

Her father taught her how to dance at a very young age and even though she didn’t have much money, she still had fun doing it! After that, she started dancing professionally. At the time, she wasn’t really into performing arts like singing or acting. However, after a few years of practicing yoga regularly, she realized that it could be used as a way to improve her physical fitness level.

She then decided to pursue a degree in exercise science and nutrition from Florida State University. While there, she met her husband.

They both worked together on their studies and eventually they got married! Nowadays, she teaches yoga classes all over the world. She’s been known to teach at some of the top gyms such as Planet Fitness and Zumba studios.

The reason why she became a yoga instructor is because she loves teaching others about health and wellness. She believes that everyone should learn how to live life fully and not just take care of themselves.

She also wants people to enjoy what they do so that they will want to continue doing it for a long time!

Briohny’s favorite saying is “do what you love.” While it may seem like a simple concept, she knows that it can be hard for some people to fully embrace.

That’s why she wants to share her passion and love for life with everyone.

Her classes are known to be fun and upbeat. She mixes in dynamic movements with traditional poses.

This style gets people moving as well as focused on their breathing. A lot of her routine is made up on the spot. She doesn’t use much of a script because she prefers to interact with her audience.

Briohny has been teaching Acro Yoga in her classes lately. Acro Yoga involves combining yoga poses with acrobatics.

It’s a great way to improve strength, flexibility, and trust! She finds that it’s a fun activity to do in her classes because it allows people to be hands on with one another. People make friendships based on what they create together. In her eyes, teamwork is one of the most important skills that anyone can have in life.

Her favorite type of class to teach is a Friday Flick! The Friday Flick is a yoga class meets movie night.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own pillows and blankets so that they can enjoy maximum comfort. The lights are dimmed throughout the room while the participants watch a movie on a large projector screen.
