The film tells the story of how the United States Olympic team came together to compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
The film follows four members of Team USA from their training camp in Colorado Springs, Colorado; through their first competition, the U.S. Nationals held at Madison Square Garden; to their victory over China in the final match of the Games.
The film includes interviews with all four athletes and other participants involved in making up Team USA during its run through each event.
It was nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture, Director, Actor (McKinnon), Actress (Jones) and Supporting Actress (Leslie Jones). However it lost out to Spotlight.
In the year 2000, America’s best and brightest are preparing for one of the most difficult sporting events ever: the Olympic games. They have been training hard for years and now they’re ready to go to war against each other.
Kate McKinnon is known for her raw talent and fierce determination. With a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, she has a head for numbers and a body for sin. The girl can do almost anything.
Leslie Jones is an intelligent woman with an affinity for numbers and a love of competition. She has always been a winner in everything she has ever done. In 2012, she finally got a chance to prove herself at the highest level.
She did not fail to impress.
Zach King is an ambitious young man with a love of magic and a desire to be the best. From a young age he set his sights on the Olympics, believing that this was his chance to shine. In 2013, he auditioned for America’s Got Talent and won the title of “Favorite Magician”.
Chris Corbett is a young man with a dream. He was inspired to be an Olympian after watching the games in 1996 and he’s never looked back since then. He has one goal in mind: to win gold at the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In 2012, Kate, Chris, Leslie and Zach come together to represent their nation on the world stage. Their dreams will be either fulfilled or shattered.

Kate is American, but due to the success of her character in the 2012 games, she is also the main star of this film. She was chosen due to her amazing performance in the role of Lindsey Van Houten, which she won an Academy Award for. As such, Kate will once again be reprising her role as a determined, hard-working athlete who overcomes all obstacles to achieve her dreams.
Kate trained with the real-life 2012 American weightlifting team to prepare for her role, and has been spotted multiple times at the USA Weightlifting center in Arlington.
Kate, just like her character in the film, is an incredibly dedicated and hard-working individual. She is constantly pushing herself to improve, and always gives 110% of her ability in everything that she does.
Kate has been romantically linked to her co-star Chris Pratt from Parks and Recreation since March of 2014. They met on the set of her latest film, The Giant Mechanical Man, where they played a romantic couple. Ever since then, they have been constantly seen together at awards shows, premieres and sporting events.
Although Chris is 6 years older than Kate, their age gap doesn’t seem to matter to them. They are truly in love with one another and share a strong bond that will certainly carry on for many years to come…
They are the cutest couple in Hollywood today.
Leslie Jones is regarded as a comedic genius within the film industry. She has been a part of several well-known comedies such as Top Five and the Ghostbusters reboot.
Leslie’s career kicked off when she was selected to join NBC’s hit show Saturday Night Live in 2013, becoming their first black female cast member in six years. Ever since then, she has used her platform to spread awareness of important issues such as racial inequality, feminism and police brutality.
While she’s known for her raunchy humor, she has stated in several interviews that she wants to use her career to highlight important issues. While her approach to this has been questioned by people who believe she could be using her platform to speak on these issues in a more direct way, her dedication cannot be questioned.
Chris Pratt got his big break when he was cast as Andy Dwyer in the hit sitcom Parks and Recreation back in 2009. He was only meant to be in the show for 6 episodes, but his amazing performance as a goofy, yet loveable character resulted in him becoming a full-time cast member. By the time the series ended in 2015, he had appeared in every single episode of the show.
He is set to reprise his role in a spin-off series scheduled to air next year.
