CrossFit Is Closing To New Ideas?
The CrossFit Games have been around since 2010 and it seems like they’ve never stopped growing. The popularity of the games has grown exponentially over the years, but so too has their influence on other fitness movements. There’s no denying that CrossFit is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to strength training and functional fitness. They’re not just a bunch of guys in spandex doing pull ups and pushups either; they have some pretty high profile trainers such as Greg Glassman (who is also the owner of the CrossFit Games), Rich Froning, and many others.
So why isn’t there more competition in this space? Why aren’t there any new gyms popping up to compete against each other?
Well, it all boils down to money.
It’s not just the big box gyms that are getting out of the game though; smaller gyms are also starting to get out of the game due to lack of funds. I’m sure you’ve heard about the recent closure of CrossFit LA due to financial issues. Other smaller gyms have closed down because they simply don’t have enough resources or they’re having trouble finding qualified staff members who want to work at these small businesses anymore.
With all of this talk about CrossFit, you might be wondering why there aren’t more crossfit gym failure rate. Well, the main reason is because it’s expensive to start and run a gym. Not only do you need to pay for rent on a facility, but you also have to pay for equipment; this includes both the necessary and unnecessary stuff. A lot of people think you need all the flashy stuff and anything that looks cool, but that isn’t always the case.
Not only do you have to buy equipment, but you also need to pay for a license to run your business, and this can really put a dent in your pockets.
You might be wondering why people would even want to open up their own gym if it’s such a headache. Well, there are a couple reasons for that. Some people do it just for the love of fitness and CrossFit in general. They do it because they want to be apart of something that they love and they’re willing to sacrifice a few things here and there if it means they can help the community reach their fitness goals.
If you think about it, that’s what really keeps these businesses going. The community. It’s a community that is dedicated to fitness, and it’s an amazing thing to see people come together for the common goal of becoming healthier. It’s also great motivation when you have coaches and trainers there to push you when you don’t think you can go any further.
Another reason why gyms are opening up is because it can be a good investment if you do it right. It takes a bit of patience and market research, but it can definitely be worth it if you know what you’re doing. Look for a facility in a city or town that is growing rapidly, or at least has a high average income. If you’re able to open up a gym in an area like this, then you should do well as there are more people who are in the position to become long-term members.
While it’s true that people can workout at home or in the privacy of their own garage, nothing quite beats having all the equipment you need without having to purchase any of it and not having to worry about annoying bystanders. Gyms also tend to have more up-to-date equipment and they are often much cleaner than a makeshift garage gym or a home gym.
Sure, CrossFit may not be for everyone. But those who do partake in it definitely have a lot of passion and loyalty to it. Hopefully, this post has given you a better understanding of the reasons why people join CrossFit gyms and why some people choose to open up their own.
