How to Age Gracefully:
There are many reasons why one may want to age gracefully. One reason could be that one wants to live longer or have better health.
Another reason might be that one wishes to enjoy life more during their later years. There are other factors which can make someone decide to age gracefully, but these two main ones will always remain the most important ones for any person who wants longevity and happiness in their later years.
1) Life Expectancy:
One of the biggest reasons why some people want to age gracefully is because they believe that they won’t live long enough to experience all the things that they would like to do. They don’t want to spend their remaining years living out their lives in regret.
Some people even think that if they lived longer, then maybe it wouldn’t be so bad after all. However, there are plenty of problems with this idea.
The first problem is that people tend to get old before they realize it. People usually start getting sick earlier than they should and die younger than they should.
A few examples of this are cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes mellitus type 2 (T2DM), osteoporosis and obesity. These diseases take away from our quality of life much sooner than we expect them to. We end up either having to suffer through pain on a daily basis or die at a much earlier age. However, some people don’t have the misfortune of getting sick. Instead, they die in accidents or homicides. These things can happen at any time and aren’t diseases which can be cured by taking pills or injections.
The second problem is that even if we do live a long life, all of our years won’t necessarily be quality ones.
