A. You can try using a cordless drill and drill holes into the wood before putting the screws in. This will prevent them from ripping out.
The other issue is that the metal brackets that came with my bar are too wide to fit between the studs in my wall.

Try to brace the wall as best you can with something like a piece of wood or a couple of books, and then tighten the screws until they don’t budge when you give them a gentle push. You might also need to brace the wall above the brackets as well to prevent your pull up bar from falling forward.
What if my door frame isn’t quite big enough for me to do pull ups in?
