James FitzGerald

James FitzGerald was born on 8th of July 1962 in New York City. His father was a retired police officer and his mother worked at a bank. James’ parents divorced when he was young, but they remained close friends throughout his childhood and even after their divorce. James attended private school until he graduated from high school at age 16 whereupon he enrolled into Columbia University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts. While attending college, James took acting classes and performed in plays. At the same time, he studied kinesiology and exercise science at Columbia University. After graduating with a degree in theatre studies, James moved to Los Angeles where he began working as an assistant director for a variety show called “The Tonight Show.”

In 1993, James made his feature film debut opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt in the comedy movie “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka!” (1993). Two years later, he starred alongside Kate Hudson in the romantic drama “A Thousand Words” (1994). In 1995, he co-starred with Anne Hathaway in the comedy “Titanic: The Legend Continues” (1995) and then went on to star opposite Sandra Bullock in the action thriller “Armageddon Game” (1996), which earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.

In the late nineties, James continued to appear in a string of high-profile movies, including the crime-drama “HBO film” (1997) with David Morse, the comic book action thriller “Batman & Robin” (1997) with George Clooney and Arnold Schwarzenegger and the war drama “U-571” (2000) opposite Matthew McConaughey, Matt Damon and Jon Bon Jovi. He also played a starring role in the comedy movie “Kangaroo Jack” (2003) with Jerry O’Connell and Anthony Anderson. In the early 2000s, James began to appear in a number of hit television shows like “Numb3rs”, “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Without A Trace.” In 2007, he was cast opposite Jennifer Garner in the short-lived series “Drive,” which only lasted for one season. In the meantime, he had made a name for himself as a respected character actor and had become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand character stars. In 2008, James had a starring role opposite Uma Thurman and Gérard Depardieu in the World War II drama “Forbidden Territory” (2008). Three years later, he co-starred with Steve Coogan in the crime film “The Look of Love” (2012). Most recently, he appeared with Jennifer Aniston in the comedy movie “Mother’s Day” (2016).
