Kenta Seki

Kenta Seki is a Japanese professional wrestler from Japan. He was born in January 23rd, 1983 in Tokyo, Japan. His real name is Kentarou Miura. He became famous after winning the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XXVIII on April 5th, 1999. He won the title after defeating Hulk Hogan in a match held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

He made his debut on June 18th, 1997 when he wrestled against “The Masked Superstar” Kurt Angle at the first ever WWF Unforgiven pay-per-view event. He would later go on to win the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) Tag Team Championships with Rob Van Dam.

In 2001, he joined the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he teamed up with fellow wrestlers Randy Orton and Batista. They were part of the “New Age Outlaws”, which consisted of Kane, Big Show, Rey Mysterio Jr., Chris Jericho and Booker T. Together they formed the group known as The Shield. They won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

He later went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship a second time.

He has also held tag team championships at three different times in his career. These included the NWA World Tag Team Championships with John Cena, the WWE World Tag Team Championships with John Cena and Batista and finally the unified WWE Tag Team Championships with John Cena and Batista. He has also won the World Heavyweight Championship at two different times in his career.

He is also a record eleven-time tag team champion and a four-time Intercontinental Champion, making him the twenty-seven time world champion overall. In January 2008 he won the Royal Rumble match, thus earning the right to main event Wrestlemania for the World Heavyweight Championship. This feat made him the first person ever to do so in his first time at the event. He has also headlined three Wrestlemania events. These were at Wrestlemanias 21, 22 and 23.

Kenta has won many other awards including the Best Flying Wrestler Award from Wrestling Observer Newsletter in both 2002 and 2006. He won the PWI Match of the Year Award three times in a row, these being in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He has also won the Best Overall Wrestler Award from Pro Wrestling Illustrated three times, in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He is also a two-time Best Box Office Draw Award winner.

He has also won the Tag Team of the Year Award three times in a row, these being in 2006, 2007 and 2008. He has also won the Feud of the Year Award twice, these being in 2006 with John Cena and in 2008 with John Cena and Batista. This was followed by the Rumble Match of the Year Award in 2008. He has also won the Best Wrestling Maneuver Award twice, these being in 2005 and 2007. He won the Best Bout Award three times in a row, these being in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

He won the Superstar of the Year Award twice in a row, these being in 2005 and 2006. He was also voted as having the Best Physique in Pro Wrestling twice, in 2004 and 2007.
