Paleo Nutrition for Athletes: What to Eat After Workouts & Other Hacks

Paleo Diet Recipes

There are many different types of foods that can be eaten after workouts. Some of them include: protein shakes, bars, cookies, granola bars, fruit snacks and so on. These kinds of food can help you recover from your workouts faster and they provide energy too. However some of these kind of foods contain high amounts of sugar which will make you feel bloated and even sick after eating it for a long time.

So it’s better to stick with low carb or no carbohydrate meals.

The best thing about paleo diet is that it helps you lose weight, but if you want to gain muscle mass then you need to eat more calories than what your body needs. You have to consume enough calories during the day so that your muscles grow bigger and stronger. If not, then you’ll end up gaining fat instead of losing it.

Paleo Diet Tips

It’s always good to follow the advice given by experts when it comes to nutrition. But sometimes there are certain things that don’t work out for some people. That’s why it’s important to do research before trying any new diet. Here are some paleo diet tips that you could follow if you’re planning to try it out:

1. There are three different categories when it comes to meat: red meat, poultry and seafood/shellfish.

You can eat as much as red meat as you want, but it’s better to limit your intake of poultry and seafood. Seafood contains high levels of mercury which is not good for the body in large quantities. As for poultry, it’s better to limit your intake of it because it contains high levels of cholesterol.

2. You should also take in as much vegetables and some fruits as possible.

These foods are low in calories and they’re good for your health in general. Eat the non-starchy ones.

3. Fats are very important when it comes to paleo diet.

Make sure to eat a lot of them as these will keep your body energized during the day.
