When you first get your grippers, start with the blue pair and do 5 sets of 5 reps per hand. Take a 1-minute break between sets. Once you can do this comfortably, move up to the next size and follow the same routine.
Start with 30 reps per hand, twice a week.
As your grip strength increases you can increase your workload by adding a rep per set or by doing them 3 times a week.

Can the grippers pinch my skin or damage my fingers?
As long as you mount them correctly and use them correctly, they won’t damage your fingers. If you are using too much tension or you have a weak set of grippers, you might get a blister, tear, or rip in your skin. If this happens, scale back the tension on that pair or try a lighter pair next time.
How do I know if a pair is right for me?
After you get comfortable with the blue pair, move up to the next heaviest pair. You should be able to do at least 5 reps comfortably. If you are struggling to do a single rep, go down a step to the lighter ones. If you can do over 10 reps with ease, go up a step.
What if I’ve never used grippers before?
Blue is a good starting point for most people. If you can easily do over 15 reps with each hand, go up a step to the next pair in difficulty (red). If you can only do 5 or 6 reps with each hand, start with the blue then move up to orange after 2 weeks. If you can only do 1 or 2 reps, start with the orange then move up to the next pair after 2 weeks.
As you get stronger and can easily do more than 15 reps with any gripper, go up a step to a heavier pair.
Can I use these for my wrist training?

Why not just do forearm curls?
If you are using proper form and weight with your wrist curls, then that’s fine. But if you want to increase your grip strength past the limits of what normal weightlifting can do, you need to train your grip in a specific way – holding things. And not just any old thing either. Special grippers that provide resistance through the whole range of motion. Weights, at best, provide resistance at only one part of the curl movement. And, depending on the weight you use, it can encourage bad habits like letting the wrist move backwards which can lead to injury. Wrist curls are also limited by how heavy you can lift which is much lower than the amount of force your grip can support.
