Ricky Lundell

Ricky Lundell is a jiu-jitsu black belt under Ricardo Almeida. He was born in New Jersey and raised in Pennsylvania. His father is from Brazil and his mother is American. He started training jiu-jitsu at age 13 when he moved with her to Florida where she worked as a waitress. He trains out of Gracie Barra’s academy in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is known for having a very aggressive style which includes submissions and ground fighting techniques such as chokes, arm locks, leg locks and other submission holds.

His nickname is “The Predator” because he is known to take down opponents and submit them. He is one of the few competitors that have won multiple world championships. He has also competed at ADCC, Abu Dhabi Pro Team Trials, Pan Ams and many others.

It is part of what makes him an identifiable figure in the sport. In an interview with FloGrappling he was asked if he ever considered cutting his hair. He said “Beard, back and hair all together would be pretty sweet but then I would have to walk around naked all the time. So I think I will just keep it long for now.”
