The Arnold Classic is one of the most popular bodybuilding shows. The show was first held in 1982 at the Century Link Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Since then it has been held every year except 1996 when it moved to Las Vegas, Nevada due to lack of interest from fans.
In 2015 the show was held again at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Arnold Classic featured some of the best competitors from around the world competing for a grand prize of $250,000.
The show attracted over 20 million viewers worldwide. The Arnold Classic 2017 was the biggest Arnold Classic yet with a record breaking attendance of 18,000 spectators.
The show was held once again in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The competition consisted of Men’s and Women’s Bodybuilding, Martial Arts, Bikini, Fitness Modeling and Arm Wrestling.
The winners of each category received a cash prize of $20,000.
The event was first held in 2002 and ran until 2007 before being canceled for three years. It was relaunched again in 2010 with the All American Pro Show which included all the categories.
The event was named after American seven time Mr. Olympia, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
He was the main driving force behind the competition and has continued to take a keen interest in the event since its inception.
The winners of the Men’s Physique, and Women’s Physique were automatically qualified for the Mr. Olympia competition which is held later in the year.
