Barbell Juggling is one of the most popular past times among men and women alike. You might have seen it on TV or movies. Barbell juggling is not only fun but it also helps in developing strength and coordination. There are many different types of barbells used in barbell juggling. They range from small to large size and they come with various weights attached to them. These weights are called “Rogue Bella” or “BeLLa”.
The Rogue BeLLa is usually made out of metal, plastic, wood, stone or even leather. It weighs between 1.5 and 2 pounds.
The BeLLa is often used by children and teenagers because it is light enough to carry around easily. However, it isn’t suitable for anyone over the age of 18 years old due to its high risk of injury if not handled correctly. Some people use them as toys, while others use them for exercise purposes such as running or jumping rope.
Barbells are used in various sports and exercises such as shot put, weightlifting, and throwing events. They can also be used for recreational purposes such as throwing events such as the hammer throw or throwing the bar at a pole where it wraps around it.
The barbell has been in existence for centuries and has served many purposes over the years. It all started in ancient times when men used stones tied together with vines to act as a type of barbell. The first metal one was believed to have been created by the Greeks during the throwing events in the Olympic Games. The common barbell that we know today was first patented in the late 1800s by a man called George Thompson. It is still used by people in their daily lives for exercise and fun.
There are many types of barbells on the market and they come in different shapes and sizes as well as weights. The most common types are:
– Standard Barbell – A standard barbell consists of a metal bar with two large knobs on each end to stop it from rolling. They come in various lengths and weights. They are the most common type of barbell.
– EZ Curl Bar – These types of barbells are ideal for performing arm curls and can also be used to perform other exercises. They are available for both medium and large size bars.
– Safety Bars – These types of barbells are used in Olympic weightlifting and power lifting. They come in different lengths and weights.
If you are looking to buy a barbell then your best bet is to go online and look for fitness equipment stores in your area. Most of them will make special deliveries straight to your house. Alternatively, you can buy online and have the equipment delivered to your home.
Having the right size barbell is important for performing different exercises. If you are a beginner then you should start out with a medium sized one as it is lighter and therefore easier to use. As your strength and abilities improve you can buy a heavier size.
There are many different types of barbell exercises that you can perform. They are:
– The Barbell Squat – This is an exercise for the quadriceps as well as the core muscles. To perform this exercise stand with your feet about shoulder width apart and the barbell over your shoulder blades. Slowly lower yourself into a sitting position as if you were sitting down into a chair. Go down until your legs are at a 90 degree angle. Press back up to the starting position.
If this is too easy then you can do the same exercise on your tip toes.
– The Barbell Press – This is an exercise for the deltoids as well as the triceps and core muscles. To perform this exercise stand with your feet shoulder width apart and the barbell over your shoulders. Slowly push the barbell upwards until your arms are fully extended. Slowly lower the bar and repeat. You can perform this exercise with different types of grips and it works your whole body when done properly.
– The Barbell Row – This is an exercise for the back muscles. To perform this exercise, stand with your feet shoulder width apart, bend over and grip the barbell slightly wider than shoulder width. Extend your arms and lift the barbell toward your upper abdomen. Slowly lower the weight back down to the starting position. This works the upper back and strengthens your core muscles.
With regular practice, you will see a big difference in terms of strength and always remember to use proper form when exercising because this will give you the best possible results.
If you really want to boost the effectiveness of your barbell routine then why not try adding a weight lifting belt to your equipment kit?
A weight lifting belt is designed to provide support for your lower back when you are doing heavy lifting. It provides you with better posture when performing exercises like the Squat or Barbell Row.
If you feel any weakness or pain in your lower back then it is best to start using a weight lifting belt for extra support. Also, if you are planning on competing in Olympic weightlifting or power lifting then a belt is considered essential gear. With the proper use and care, a weight lifting belt can prolong your training and add years to your lifting career.
Barbells and weight belts are just two of the many types of exercise equipment you can use in your quest to get fit. If you are serious about maintaining a healthy lifestyle then it is best to invest in a few pieces of equipment as they can really help to maximize the effectiveness of your training. Remember to shop around and do your research before buying anything.
The barbell is one of the oldest and most universal pieces of weight training equipment in the world. For centuries, this hunk of iron has helped to turn weaklings into heroes and today it continues to be a vital part of any serious weightlifters kit.
Despite its intimidating appearance and brutish name, barbells can be used by anyone as they allow a large amount of exercise variety while targeting every muscle in the body. For these reasons, the humble barbell is considered to be the most important piece of equipment in a fitness enthusiast’s arsenal.
Barbells come in a wide variety of weights and sizes. The average barbell is made up of a long metal bar with two large handles on either side for holding. At either end of the central bar are plates that can be individually added or removed in order to increase or decrease the overall weight. The ends of the bar are surrounded by rubber rings that help to protect the floor and athlete if dropped.
Barbells are available in a wide range of sizes and weights so that athletes and trainers can find the perfect equipment to suit their needs. A very light barbell is typically used by trainers who are looking to increase the speed of their client’s repetitions. Heavier barbells are adopted by body builders in order to maximize the amount of weight they can lift and gain greater muscle mass.
Although barbells offer a great way to keep in shape, they come with a few minor drawbacks. They require more space than most other pieces of equipment and they don’t come cheap either – but if you’re looking to get big, strong and powerful then a good barbell set is money well spent!
In most parts of the world, barbells have to be manufactured to strict quality standards in order to be sold and these days you can find some amazing ones that help to prevent injuries as well as aiding your training. Manufacturers are now producing barbells with chamfered ends and turned edges that not only look good but also prevent any painful accidents during use.
Barbells are available in a range of different sizes and weights to suit all levels of athlete. When choosing a barbell, you need to take into consideration your own strength and fitness goals. If you are a professional athlete or serious trainer, you’re going to want to choose the heaviest barbell that you believe you can lift. Body builders and casual lifters will be best choosing a mid-range barbell that allows them to work out all major muscle groups without getting injured.
As with most pieces of weight training equipment, you can expect to spend a little money when buying a barbell. Cheaper barbells are usually very cheap because they’re manufactured with poor quality metals and aren’t fitted properly. If you decide to buy a cheap barbell, you will need to adjust its position after every few uses as it begins to bend out of shape.
A good barbell will cost you around $200.00 but will last a lifetime and can be passed on to other people once you’ve outgrown it. If you are unsure about which size and weight of barbell to buy then consult a fitness or body building professional at your local gym. They will be able to measure your strength and suggest the best piece of equipment to suit your needs.
Barbells are a great investment for people who want to train hard without having to constantly change equipment. No matter what your fitness goals, barbells can help you achieve them more quickly and safely.
Picking the right type of barbell for your needs doesn’t have to be a complicated or expensive process. Try to invest in a well made, mid-range barbell set that will last you a lifetime and help you to achieve all of your goals in record time.
Barbells are long metal bars that typically have calibrated discs at each end. Traditionally made of steel, they can now be found in a range of different materials and coatings that offer specific advantages for different types of training.
Barbells are used as the central piece of equipment in the vast majority of weightlifting exercises. As such they come in an incredibly wide variety of lengths, widths, weights and coatings that allow them to be used by people of all sizes and abilities.
1. Standard Barbells
Also known as ‘Olympic Barbells’ these are the type of barbells that you will typically see in a Gym. These are the heaviest and most durable and expensive of all the different types of barbell. Made of steel or iron with a green, yellow or black coating they are usually 7ft (2.13m) long and weigh approximately 45lbs (20kg).
2. Spring Collar Barbells
Also known as ‘Olympic Training Bars’ these are the same as a standard barbell except for the fact they have spring collars that snap onto the ends of the bar rather than having to be bolted on. They are exactly the same weight and length but cost slightly less than a standard barbell.
3. Training Barbells
Also known as ‘Semi-Olympic Bars’ these are shorter versions (usually 5ft or 1.52m) of a standard barbell and are not made to the same standards of quality, nor are they weighted as heavily. They do however have the advantage of being cheaper than a standard barbell while still weighing enough to serve most training purposes.
4. Leverage Barbells
Also known as ‘Curling Bars’ these are barbells that consist of a very short, hollow metal bar with an even shorter metal rod attached by a very flexible metal connector. These are used for a specific type of weightlifting where great force is applied to the ends of the metal bar to lift a heavy metal ball. These types of barbells are not commonly used for any other purpose and are even rarer to find in commercial gyms.
1. Standard Barbells
As mentioned previously, standard barbells are 7ft (2.13m) long. However a 7ft barbell is rather difficult to store and transport which is why they are rarely found in commercial gyms. Around 6 or 7 ft is the most common size and the same length as an Olympic Barbell.
2. Olympic Barbells
As described in detail above, these are the type of barbell you will typically find in a high-end commercial gym. They are the heaviest, most durable and most expensive. They are usually 7ft (2.13m) long and their weight varies depending on their materials.
3. Training Barbells (Variable)
As described in detail above, training barbells are a mid-range option that sits between Standard and Olympic barbells regarding quality, weight and price.
4. Leverage Barbells (Fixed)
As described in detail above, leverage barbells are a niche option for a specific type of weightlifting. They are the cheapest and lightest but also the least durable. They usually do not extend beyond 5ft (1.52m) in length.
Barbell Sleeve Types
The sleeves of a barbell are the parts that the weight disks, or plates, are secured into. The main factors that differ between each type of sleeve type are the amount of weight they can hold and the amount of space they take up on the bar. For example a pair of plastic sleeves can hold the same weight as a pair of metal sleeves but take up half the space.
1. Metal Sleeves
A standard 7ft (2.13m) long Olympic Barbell will usually have 2 metal sleeves, with the smaller diameter end having a smaller circumference and therefore holding less weight. However a smaller circumference also means they take up less space on the bar. The larger end usually has a larger circumference and therefore holds more weight.
2. Plastic Sleeves
As mentioned above, plastic sleeves are smaller than metal sleeves in everyway but they make up for this by being able to hold more weight due to their stronger material. A standard 7ft (2.13m) long Olympic Barbell will usually have 2 or 3 plastic sleeves.
3. Colored Sleeves
Colored sleeves are used to mark a change in weight increment for weightlifters. For example a weightlifter may be working their way up to lifting the Olympic Weight Class of 85kg. To do this they may increase the amount of weight on the bar by 5kg each week. To make these weight increases easier the bar can be marked up with colored sleeves. For example, each time they add a 5kg increase they switch to a different color sleeve.
4. Bearing Sleeves
Bearing sleeves are similar to metal or plastic sleeves in that they hold weight and slide over the bar. The difference is, bearing sleeves have a ball bearing inside them which means they rotate much smoother than other types of sleeve. The main benefit of this is it means the lifter will be able to lift the weight smoothly and with more control.
Barbell Collars, Wrist Straps & Chalk
Barbell Collars – Also known as Lockers, the collars secure the weight disk (plate) to the bar. They have a spring-loaded latch that opens to allow the plate to be placed on then closes securely around it. This prevents the plate sliding or moving out of place during exercise.
Wrist Straps – Wrist straps are used to increase grip strength by attaching them to the bar then hooking your wrist through them. This means you can hold heavier weight than you could with just your hand because if you lose your grip the straps will catch you, preventing a failed lift and possible injury.
Chalk – Chalk is a powdered substance that is applied to the hands to help keep a strong grip on the bar. It prevents the bar from slipping due to sweat and moisture, meaning you can hold heavier weight for longer without fatigue.
A barbell rack or cage is a structure that contains the barbell to stop it being dropped so it doesn’t get damaged or cause injury if it fell on the floor. They are usually just a few poles tied together in a square or hexagonal shape with rope and wire to tie the bars to them.
When not in use the bar is placed in the rack so it’s elevated off the floor and out of the way but still secure so it can’t be stolen. They can also be used for storage by placing plates in them.
Also known as lockers, the collars are secured on each end of a barbell plate to prevent it from sliding or moving around on the bar. The collars have a spring latch that opens to allow the plate to be placed on then closes securely around it.
The collars are especially useful if you’re doing something like a deadlift where you might need to drop the bar during your set. If you don’t use collars and you drop the bar it could roll or slide across the floor, causing injury or damaging the flooring.
