The Gut Check: Mental Strength Through Physical Training

By Dan Casey

Mental strength through physical training (MRTPT) is one of the most effective ways to improve your mental toughness. MRTPT helps you overcome fear, anxiety, depression and other negative emotions associated with working out. You will learn how to develop a positive attitude while performing any workout routine.

If you are looking for some tips on how to get started with MRTPT, then read on!

What Is MRTPT?

MRTPT is a method of training that involves increasing mental and physical endurance during exercise. The idea behind it is to increase your ability to perform at your best when under pressure or stress. Many studies have shown that mentally challenging activities like running, cycling, weight lifting and other sports can improve cognitive function and decrease symptoms of depression, anxiety and fatigue. Some research even suggests that these types of activities might even reduce the risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

You don’t need to be a professional athlete to benefit from MRTPT. It works just as well if not better than regular cardio exercises such as walking, jogging, swimming and so forth. And since it’s all aerobic activity, you won’t feel tired after doing it.

How Does MRTPT Work?

MRTPT consists of several components:

1. It increases your overall energy and endurance.

2. It improves your mental focus and ability to work through pain and discomfort.

3. It teaches you how to control your breathing in stressful situations.

4. It reduces anxiety and stress in your life.

5. It improves your heart health and immune system.

The Benefits of Mental Training

Mental training can bring many benefits to your everyday life as well as to your athletic performance. You will find that your mind becomes much more focused and that you are able to accomplish more during the day. You can become more decisive as well as creative in your thinking.

And you will find that stress, anxiety and fear start to disappear from your life.

Mental training also helps you realize what is really important in life. You will start to think about larger issues such as what you want to accomplish and how you want to live your life. You will find yourself becoming more in tune with your own goals and desires instead of worrying about the meaningless drama that seems to be so popular with people nowadays.

A Word of Caution

Before we go any further, I’d like to say that you should always seek medical attention if you have any serious medical concerns or if you feel like something is wrong with your body. Also, it is important that you don’t overdo it when doing these exercises. Make sure to start slow and work your way up to more challenging workouts.

It is also a good idea to consult a physician before engaging in any new physical activity if you have not previously done so within the last year.

The Main Components of Mental Training

Now that we’ve gone over what mental training is and the general benefits you can expect to gain from it, let’s briefly talk about some of the main components of this type of training so you can get an idea of what is involved. This will also give you an opportunity to decide whether or not you would like to start engaging in these types of exercises on a regular basis.

The Three Components of Mental Training

Mental training is a three part process that involves the mind, body and spirit. All three of these components are equally important and need to be trained on a regular basis for maximum results. In addition to these three components, it is also important to take care of your physical health by getting plenty of rest, drinking lots of water and eating nutritious foods.

The first component of mental training is meditation. By engaging in meditation on a regular basis you will find that you are less stressed out and more focused in your daily life. You will also start to feel a greater sense of peace and tranquility that will allow you to deal with difficult situations in a calm manner.

The second component of mental training is motivational reading. By reading inspirational literature on a regular basis you will find that you have greater confidence in yourself and your abilities. You will also start to see the big picture in life and what your true goals are supposed to be.

The third and final component of mental training is visualization. By visualizing yourself succeeding at your sport and enjoying yourself you will find that you have more fun when you engage in your favorite activities. In addition, your performance will improve because you will be able to visualize yourself performing at a high level.

The Benefits of Mental Training

As I mentioned earlier, mental training can help you live a better life both on and off the water. By engaging in these types of exercises on a regular basis you can expect to gain some or all of the following benefits.

– You will start to see the big picture in your life and know what you are working towards.

– Your daily stress will be greatly reduced.

– You will have more energy and feel less tired throughout the day.

– You will have an overall feeling of well being and contentment.

The Drawbacks of Mental Training

As with any training, mental training does have its drawbacks. These are the most common drawbacks that people complain about when they begin this training.

– It’s impossible to do because I don’t have time.

– It’s silly and a waste of time.

– I could be doing something more fun and exciting.

If these sound like you, then you probably won’t enjoy mental training. There are no hard and fast rules about this training though, so you can engage in it to a degree that you are most comfortable with.

The Size of Your Boat Doesn’t Matter

Whether you own a rowboat or a battleship, mental training can help you to live a better life. If you own a rowboat, you might start thinking about sailing the seven seas. If you own a battleship, you might start to think about world peace.

No matter what size boat you own, your life can be improved with a little bit of mental training.

You Don’t Need a Crew

Mental training is something that you can do all by yourself. You don’t need to bring anyone else into this process as it is designed to help you in all aspects of your life. You can do this.

Begin by setting aside a few minutes each day to work on your mental training. At first, you might only want to set aside a few minutes per week, but as it begins to have a positive impact on your life, you will be eager to set aside more time for your training. You will quickly begin to see the benefits and enjoy the whole process.

Let’s Get Started!

The best way to begin is to set aside a few minutes each day to work on this process. Choose a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Make sure you will not be interrupted and that you will not have to suddenly get up and leave.

Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Take several deep breaths and let all thought disappear. Let yourself drift…..

Visualize your happy place. This can be an island, a mountaintop, a garden, or anywhere you find peace and tranquility. Let all of your troubles drift away as you enjoy being in this relaxing place.

In this happy place, there is a Completion Monument. It may be a huge stone block, a crystal tower, a giant wooden pole, or anything else. Your Completion Monument may even be a group of people or animals.

It can even be something as simple as a large pile of rocks. No matter what it is, the key is that it is complete. It has a top and a bottom, four sides, and everything necessary in between. It does not have to be elaborate, it just has to be complete.

Spend some time visiting this place and getting to know it better. Every time you visit, there will be more things for you to see. Learn the sounds, learn the smells, learn the textures.

Spend at least five minutes observing your surroundings.

After a few minutes, you will see people approaching. These may be real people that you know or they may be people that you have created in your own mind. Real people will only be able to interact with you on a very basic level.

If someone comes up to you and shakes your hand, then you will be able to feel their hand within yours. Their facial features will be vague and changing, and you may not even be able to tell the color of their hair or eyes. Everything will be on a plain white background.

This is because real people are at a different vibration than you are. They can’t interact on the same level that you do with your happy place inhabitants. Only your mind is really able to translate everything properly.

If you interact with your people for too long, you will start to lose touch with your real feelings. This can lead to serious emotional problems down the road. It is best to keep real people interactions to a bare minimum.

Enjoy their company for a few minutes and then leave. Do not attempt to dwell in this place any longer than that.

On the other hand, if you meet one of your imaginary people, then you can try to interact with them however you want. Your imaginary people can become real in every sense of the word.

These people will most likely undergo a change whenever you revisit them. Their clothes may be different, they may have acquired facial hair or scars, or their bodies may have changed in some other way. The key to this is that these changes will only be on the inside.

They will not actually acquire any physical changes. You may wish that your imaginary friend was different in some way, and so you will change them to please you.

Do not be surprised if one day you come back and everyone is gone. This is a possibility whenever you come here. People may enter and exit your life whenever they please.

The goal is to not be attached to anyone or anything here. You must learn to let go.

You must also be careful whenever you introduce people here. If someone new enters your happy place, then everyone else that was here before will be phased out. They may very well be gone forever.

This is why it is best to not have too many people enter your special place.

There are no limits to what can happen here. Whatever you make happen will be real. This is your own private world and you may do with it as you please.

Whenever you are ready to leave, you will instantly wake up. You will feel refreshed and more energized than ever. In fact, you will feel better than you have in a very long time.

Now get out there and make your dreams come true!

You finished the book and set it down on your nightstand. You spent a few more minutes contemplating everything that you just read before you finally feel your eyes begin to get too heavy to keep open. It takes a lot of willpower to not re-read the book, but eventually you manage to fall asleep.

The next morning you wake up, refreshed and full of energy. Something about that book makes you feel excited for life again. You aren’t quite sure what to expect, but you have high hopes for whatever is in store for you.

You get ready for work and eat a nice breakfast that your mother prepares for you. You tell her that you love her and that you’ll be leaving for work now. Your mother tells you to have a good day and you walk out the door…

…and find yourself in an endless hallway.

You look around and see that it’s the same bland white that was in the cover of the book you read last night. It feels like an eternity as you wait for something to happen. You don’t feel quite as excited as you were when you first woke up, but you still have high hopes that something will happen soon.

Hey, did you get that book I sent you?”

a voice calls out to you.

You turn around to see another person in the hallway. It doesn’t look exactly like the one in the book, but this person is definitely female. She wears a black clergy shirt and a pair of skinny jeans along with a pair of glasses hanging from her neck by a chain.

Her hair is short and brown, and she has a somewhat cheerful looking face.

“I wrote that book,” she says again when she see you didn’t respond the first time.

Are you the one who made this hallway?”

you ask, not really understanding what’s going on.

“I made the book. The hallway is just a side effect of reading it.”

So you’re a writer?”

She laughs a bit at that. “No, I’m a god.”

“What…” You start to ask before she interrupts you.

“Oh, this isn’t one of those other kind of gods like in mythology. I mean, I’m not a member of the clergy or anything. In fact, I’m not even religious.

I’m just a regular god. Well, maybe not so regular. It’s just me. And you’re talking to me right now, which can only mean one thing…”

You have a sudden realization of what she’s talking about. “I wrote you into existence.”

“Exactly!” she says with a smile. “I’m your god, and here we are in a side story to one of your books.”

So this book is like Incubus?”

You ask.

She frowns at you a bit. “I hate Incubus. That’s why I wrote Alternative in the first place.

It’s nothing like that.”

Alright then, so what is this book like then?”

She smiles again. “It’s like an atheist’s nightmare.”

You aren’t exactly sure what that means, but you think it has something to do with being a writer so you don’t question her further.

“Now I don’t have much time to speak with you. I’m gathering energy so that I can create and sustain a universe for my characters. It takes a lot of work, but it’s worth it to see them happy and living out their lives.”

This is all a lot to take in for you. You aren’t sure if you’re dreaming or not, but it seems real enough and this person does as well. More than that, she’s an actual god that exists now because you wrote her into existence.

“If I didn’t know any better,” you say, “I’d say I was dreaming, but this all feels very real.”

“It is real,” she replies. “Try touching my hand.”

You reach out and touch her hand. It feels as real as yours. You pull it back and look at her.

“This is weird.”

“I know. For the first few days I kept forgetting that I was a god and would try to write fiction. I was bad at it, too.

But anyway, I can’t stay here long, I need to keep creating.”

But what about me?”

you ask. “

What happens to me? Am I going to live in this hallway forever?”

She frowns a bit. “I’m afraid so. I’m sorry. There’s not much else I can do for you. But! The good news is, you’ll get to see the culmination of your work and all your characters come to life.”

You mean like the experiment that was done in Alternative?”

She nods her head. “I see you’ve read the book. Yes, it’s similar to that. I suppose that also makes you like a Higher being.”

“But I don’t have any interest in the story. I haven’t read it in years. I don’t even remember what happens or how it ends.”

“That doesn’t matter,” she says. “Just watch, and be patient. Pretty soon, the fantasy will become reality for you.” She pauses and looks at you again.

“I’ll come back soon, I promise.” She smiles at you and runs her fingers through your hair, much like how your mother did when you were a child.

Then, she’s gone. You’re left alone in the hallway. For a while, that’s all there is too it.

You walk around a bit and try the doors in the hallway, but of course they’re locked tight. There’s nothing interesting to see here, so you sit down against the wall and wait.

Days pass into weeks, and you begin to lose track of time. You find that the lights never turn off in this hallway, they’re always on. After a while, you stop going to the bathroom and eating food.

The Gut Check: Mental Strength Through Physical Training - GymFitWorkout

You just lose interest in those things. All you do is sit in the hallway and stare at the doors. Some of them have names on them, so you know which ones to look at and when.

Months later, you get tired of sitting down and stand up to walk around again. It’s harder to do it for so long, so you decide to sit down and rest again. You feel very weak.

Finally, you get the energy to walk over to one of the doors and peer inside.

You see a young girl in her early teenage years sitting at a desk. She has long brown hair and is dressed fancily. She appears to be taking notes on something.

This must be the main character of one of the books, you think. You’ve never met her before, but she looks like a nice girl.

As you’re staring at her, you notice that her door is open just a crack. You smile as an idea comes into your head. You go back to your corner and wait until she turns her back to you.

Without making a sound, you sneak over to the door and open it up all the way. Then, you sneak back to your corner.

She doesn’t notice you at first, but when she does her eyes go wide. She stands up and walks over to you. “

How did you get out of your room?”

she asks. “This is amazing! I’ve tried everything to get out of mine, but nothing was working.”

You just smile and nod your head. She smiles back and takes you by the hand, pulling you with her as she goes back to her desk and sits down. She starts to talk to you about her classes and how much she hates them.

You have no idea what she’s talking about, but it sounds interesting. She seems to be a very friendly girl.

After a few minutes, you get the idea that this is just like a regular girl in school. You’re acting weird, but you don’t care.

The door to the outside world

You wake up on the hard floor of the hallway. For a moment you think that maybe you were dreaming, but as you look down at your arms and legs you can see that you’re still paper-thin and almost see-through. What a strange dream you think as you get up and head to one of the doors.

Maybe one of these rooms has something to do with it.
