Benefits of Muay Thai for Females:
1) Muay Thai is a sport that requires physical strength and endurance.
It helps in developing these qualities. These are necessary qualities to excel at any type of sports or activities. Women need to have strong bodies if they want to compete with men in any type of sports. When it comes to fighting, women need to be able to withstand punches and kicks from their opponents without getting hurt themselves.
2) Muay Thai training is a great way to improve your coordination, balance, flexibility and overall health.
You will learn how to fight better using different techniques.
3) Muay Thai also teaches you how to defend yourself against attacks when needed.
If you do not train in this aspect of fighting, then chances are that you may get injured during fights and lose your skills which could result in losing the fight altogether.
4) Muay Thai is a good way to meet other ladies who share similar interests.
You can also try out new things like dancing, singing and so forth.
5) There are many ways to become successful in life.
Some people succeed through hard work while others achieve success through luck or being born into certain circumstances. But there is no denying that some people have talent and skill that cannot be taught and only come naturally. If you have natural talent and ability when it comes to fighting skills then this is an option worth looking into.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Training in Muay Thai:
While there are many benefits of training in muay thai, there are some negative aspects that should be taken into consideration. Some of these pros and cons are listed below.
1) Improved self-defense techniques.
The ability to defend yourself against an attacker is a very important quality that everyone ought to have.
2) Improved physical strength and endurance.
This can lead to better performances in other sports as well.
3) Great cardio workout.
If you are looking to lose weight, then Muay Thai could be a great way to do it since the sport involves a lot of running, shadow boxing, and actual sparring.
4) Self-confidence boost.
If you are a beginner then you may feel intimidated by the entire process, but once you learn how to do things properly and master different skills, then you will gain a sense of accomplishment that will be very rewarding and will make you feel great about yourself.
1) Getting punched in the face and body hurts, no matter who you are, so expect to experience some pain when you are first starting out.
2) You will get injured at some point, this is just a reality.
The best you can do is to try to avoid serious injuries and know the proper way of healing yourself when you do get hurt.
3) It can become very costly if you don’t know much about it and don’t shop around for the best deals.
It’s always a good idea to check out several different gyms before you actually commit to one.
These pros and cons can apply to any type of martial art by the way, it’s just that in this case muay thai is the specific martial art in question.
What to Look for in a Muay Thai Gym:
If you have decided that you want to give muay thai a try and are wondering where you should take lessons, then just asking around and doing some online research will probably turn up several different gyms in your area. These are the things that you should look for when choosing a gym:
1) The first thing you want to look at is the facility itself.
Is it clean? Are there equipment shortages? Do you like the facilities?
If you plan on taking classes here, then these are important questions to ask yourself.
2) The next thing that you need to look at it the instructor and their assistants, if they have any.
Do you feel comfortable with their teaching skills? What is your impression of them? Do you think you can learn muay thai effectively from them?
These are all very important questions.
3) You should also ask to see some of the recent test results of past students.
This will give you an idea on what level you will be learning at and also shows the progress that students at this gym generally make. The better a student does, the more they typically pay, so high quality gyms won’t usually have many tests posted online.
These are just a few things that you should look for when choosing a gym. There are many other things that you can look into, but these are some of the more important ones that you should prioritize.
