What to expect your first time in the gym?
The first thing you need to think about when going to the gym is what kind of person are you going to meet there? Are you looking for a partner or someone with whom you want to compete?
If it’s competition, then it would be better if both of you have some experience in such activities. You might not even make much progress if neither one of them has any previous experience. So, you need to choose carefully.
If you’re looking for a partner, then you need to decide whether you want to work out alone or together. If it’s just working out together, then it doesn’t matter which type of exercise equipment you use since all of them will suffice. However, if you’re planning on doing something like weight training or bodybuilding competitions, then each individual needs their own place where they can train properly.
There are many types of gyms around the world. Some gyms are designed for individuals who wish to lose weight while others are meant for those who want to get fit. There are also other kinds of gyms that cater to different age groups and fitness levels. Therefore, you’ll need to pick a suitable gym that suits your needs.
You may also want to consider the type of equipment used in the gym so that you don’t end up spending too much money on it. For instance, if you really want to get into shape or lose weight, then you should focus on cardio and other machines that can be used in such a manner. If you prefer to get stronger and build muscles, then the best option for you would be weight training.
If you’re not sure what kind of exercises to do, then you can always consult with a personal trainer at your local gym. They are generally very friendly and more than happy to help you design a proper exercise routine.
How to prepare yourself for your first day at the gym?
If you haven’t been going to the gym regularly, then it’s always a good idea to take a day off before your first visit. A lot of people like to start working out on Monday, so if you can pick any day other than that, then it would be ideal.
It’s best if you can keep a rest day between your visits to the gym. If you work out on a regular basis without much rest in between, your body will eventually hit a plateau and cease to get any stronger or faster. Your results will remain stagnant and you won’t see any improvement.

If you belong to a gym, then you’ll have a goal to workout with others who are trying to achieve the same thing you are. Having the extra motivation of others who are working towards a common goal can be a real boost to help you get in shape and achieve your fitness goals.
Your first visit to a gym should include a tour with an employee so that you know where everything is located from the lockers to the showers. If possible, you should attempt to enroll in a beginners gym class that teaches you how to use each piece of equipment; this is especially true if you are not familiar with using free weights.
While you may think that everyone else will be judging you, rest assured that they are all worried about themselves and looking like a fool. Everyone starts out a beginner at some point in their life. Feel free to ask others for help if you don’t understand how to use a piece of equipment or if you get stuck with an exercise. Most people love to give advice and they will appreciate that you asked them for help rather than struggling and potentially hurting yourself.
Don’t be afraid to set goals and reward yourself when you reach them. For example, your first goal might be to go to the gym for one month consecutively. When you reach your goal, reward yourself with a gift or treat. If you reach a large goal, such as losing 50lbs, then celebrate by going to an all-inclusive resort for a week.

At first, look for a personal trainer who is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association or the American College of Sports Medicine. These professionals will also create an individualized meal plan to fit your dietary needs. During each session they will assess your body’s progress and make necessary adjustments to push your body to its optimal fitness level.
Alternatively, some gyms offer programs that are led by experienced coaches. These coaches are not necessarily professional fitness trainers, but they do have a lot of experience with exercise and fitness.
Finally, you can always hire a personal fitness trainer or coach if you have the money. If cost is an issue, check to see if your employer offers any fitness programs at the workplace. Some employers may even subsidize the cost of a personal trainer if you have health insurance through your job.
Many of us are guilty of spending too much time sitting down and not getting enough exercise. Exercising doesn’t always mean that you have to go to the gym and run on a treadmill for an hour. There are plenty of exercises you can do right at your desk if you get tired of sitting in front of your computer.
You can also try doing some calf raises in your chair, or even stretching while you’re at your desk. If you have some space in your office, try a little power walk while you’re on the phone. If that’s not possible, take the long way to your coffee maker and back.
The important thing is to move your body throughout the day. Even if it’s just a few minutes at a time, it will all add up over time.
While many people dread going to the gym because they know they’ll be surrounded by “gym rats” who spend their whole day there, that doesn’t mean that you should discount going to the gym as a way to get fit.
If you really think about it, the “gym rats” who spend their whole day at the gym are actually spending too much time at the gym. They’re not getting any real exercise outside of the gym because all they’re doing is working out. That’s no way to live your life. No one wants to be that person.
By going to the gym for a couple of hours during the week and incorporating some exercise into your daily routine, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, you’ll be doing your body a lot more good.
Here are some tips to help you get started with working out at the gym:
Learn how to use each machine properly before you use it. Most gyms provide instruction manuals that explain how to use each piece of equipment in the gym. Take advantage of these manuals before using any equipment to prevent straining a muscle or pulling a tendon. Unless you really know what you’re doing, it’s probably best to ask a gym instructor for help until you learn how to use each machine properly.
Conveniently, most gyms have children’s playgrounds inside the building. These are great places to let your child run off some energy so that they won’t constantly be bugging you. Just make sure you watch them carefully in case any of the equipment is damaged and they try to touch something they’re not supposed to.
If you want your child to burn off a lot of energy quickly, let them run around inside the gym. Most gyms have plenty of space for children to run around. Just make sure you know where they are at all times and that they aren’t touching anything that could be dangerous, such as the free weights.
The token “fat” person at the gym is not necessarily a true representation of everyone who goes there. It’s just a reflection of the fact that most people don’t take care of themselves like they should. It doesn’t make them bad people. Everyone has their own flaws and, as long as it isn’t hindering anyone else, it isn’t really anyone else’s business.
Be nice to everyone you meet at the gym and don’t condemn or judge anyone. You have no idea what they’re going through.
Go to the gym with a friend whenever you can. Not only is this more fun since you’ll have someone to talk to while you’re there, but you’ll be less likely to skip out on going if you know you’ve got someone else depending on you. Find someone who’s on the same fitness level as you so that you can work out together. If you’re really worried about trusting someone else, most gyms offer “specials” for people who want to go alone.
Take advantage of the fitness classes that most gyms offer. Not only will this help you get in shape, but it will give you someone else to talk to and make you feel less awkward about being there by yourself.
Bring a bottle of water with you whenever you go to the gym and drink it during your workouts. This helps keep your body hydrated, which is especially important when your exercising.
If you don’t have the time to go to the gym, but still want to get in a quick workout, try doing some basic exercises at home. Push-ups, sit-ups, and jumping jacks are just a few examples of exercise you can do at home that will help you stay in shape.
Watch what you eat! It’s very important for your body to get the nutrients it needs and it’s not going to get them if you’re only eating junk foods. You will never get rid of all your fat. It’s not possible. There is no such thing as a healthy diet that will cause you to lose a large amount of weight in a short period of time (a common misconception). Diets that claim this are lying.
They might help you lose weight, but as soon as you start eating normally again, the weight will come back and then some.
What you need to do is start eating healthier and get into a routine of exercise. Find workouts that you actually enjoy doing and do them on a regular basis. Your weight might not always be where you want it, but it will slowly fall into place if you stick with it.
Also, don’t forget to watch your diet! Diets still matter even if you’re working out. You can’t get rid of fat if you’re eating too much of it. If you’re unsure about how to eat healthier, check out the recipes in this book or ask a nutritionist for help.
There’s no such thing as a quick fix so don’t fall victim to ads that claim to have one. The only thing those types of products do is take your money and leave you worse off than you were before.
Take care of your body. It’s the only one you’ve got.

Just as the mind and body are interrelated, so to are they interlinked with the soul. It is this link which causes spiritual energy, also known as reiatsu (ray-ee-atch-oo), to form. Every living being has reiatsu and it’s what allows all those with spiritual powers to make use of them.
Along with being linked to the mind and body, the level of spiritual energy within someone is also reflected by one’s personality. For example, someone who has a lot of patience will most likely have a lot of reiatsu. Someone who is very aggressive will have a fiery aura of reiatsu. A person’s reiatsu also grows as they get older.
This growth depends on the person’s habits. A person who constantly challenges him or herself and takes on new responsibilities gains a larger reserve than someone who lives a lazy life. This is why some people with few to no spiritual powers can lead happy and successful lives while others with great potential remain nothing but lowly.
There are different factors that can affect the growth of one’s reiatsu, but all of them rely on taking on a new challenge. The simplest way to do this is to learn something new. This is why children, although possessing low levels of reiatsu, are constantly in a state of high growth. Their minds are still developing and learning new things, which leads to an increase in reiatsu.
The second way is to take on a healthy challenge. This can be something like running a mile or learning a new song on the piano. Although these seem simple enough they require enough focus to improve one’s mind, which develops the spiritual energy and increases the reserve.
The third and last way is the most difficult. It involves a great emotional challenge. Common examples of this are fighting against an enemy, breaking up with someone you love, or quitting something you’ve been doing for a long time. These all involve very emotional circumstances that allow the reiatsu to flow more freely.
It might not always work, but as long as you feel enough rage, happiness, or sadness, your reiatsu will grow.
These are the three most common ways to increase one’s spiritual energy, but there are other methods depending on the person. Everyone is different so it’s up to you to find out what works best for you!
(Note: depending on your level of natural growth, you might not be able to cultivate any spiritual energy within a year after awakening. This is normal for some people)

Now that you have learned about reiatsu, it’s time to move on to the different kinds of spiritual abilities. Although rare, some people are able to perform certain skills just by thinking. Referred to as mental actions, these abilities are the simplest to learn and master. Other abilities require direct contact with an object or fluid called halma, which is similar to a human’s bodily fluids.
The rarest abilities are the physical actions which involves manipulating the world around you. These abilities take the longest to learn and master because they involve the most practice and actual skill.
The next section will go over all three types of abilities in greater detail as well as what they can do and how hard they are to learn.
MENTAL abilities are just as they sound. They require the least amount of effort and most can be performed from afar. All one has to do is concentrate in order to use any of these abilities.
A list of mental abilities include but are not limited to:
CLAIRVOYANCE-The ability to see things that are out of your current field of vision.
CLAUSCITANCE-The ability to locate a particular object.
AURAL ESOTERICA-The ability to hear anything, anywhere.
MEMORY PROJECTION-The ability to place your consciousness into another living being.
OUIJA BOARD-The ability to converse with the dead.
Most of these abilities involve the mind in some way or another. A person who has extreme skill in these abilities may even be able to control the mind of another being. While it is possible to perform feats such as these, they must only be used for good purposes because if used for evil, they can have adverse side effects.
Unlike Mental abilities, a PHYSICAL ability requires you to make direct contact with an object in order to perform it’s desired task. These abilities are the most common yet still very rare.
A list of physical abilities include but are not limited to:
HEALING-The ability to heal another being.
RAPID HEALING-The ability to heal oneself.
SMOKE CLOAK-The ability to turn oneself into smoke in order to avoid attacks and travel long distances.
FIRE CONTROL-The ability to control fire, both creating it and controlling already existing flames.
ICE SHIELD-The ability to encase yourself in a shield of ice, protecting yourself from fire and heat based attacks.
EARTH MANIPULATION-The ability to raise or lower the earth around you as you wish.
These abilities all share a common trait: they manipulate the material that makes up our physical world. It takes practice but with enough time and effort, one can become skilled enough to manipulate certain objects without direct contact.
While it may be easier to practice certain abilities on your own, it is always helpful to have an instructor.
Sight Masters and their apprentices often use their mental abilities to see through the eyes of their pupils, allowing the teacher to give real time feedback during training. This makes learning these types of abilities much easier.
If you do not have access to a Sight Master however, there are other ways of finding tutelage. It just may take a little longer.
It is also important to note that having a skill in one type of ability does not exclude the user from developing skill in another. A Sight Master skilled in mental abilities may still be able to control fire through concentration for example.
