Why Successful People Don’t Set Goals
Setting goals is not only time consuming but it is also very difficult to achieve. Most successful people have never set any kind of goal other than “to succeed”. They do not believe in setting specific targets or goals because they feel that such things are unproductive and lead to complacency. Instead, they prefer to focus on their own strengths and abilities and to take advantage of opportunities.
In fact, many successful people are so focused on themselves that they fail to see the bigger picture. They tend to think that if they work hard enough, luck will eventually turn its back on them and allow them to get ahead. However, success comes from hard work; it does not come naturally.
Successful people are not necessarily those who set goals. There are plenty of successful people who don’t even have goals at all. These individuals may or may not be working towards anything right now, but they will certainly get there one day.
The reason why successful people don’t set goals is simple: it isn’t necessary to do so. Instead, people should focus on the things that they do want to achieve and work towards them. As long as they continue to put in the effort and give their all when it really matters, then success will come sooner or later.
Good Habits or Goals
Since most habits are a product of our environment, it’s important to make sure that your surroundings are encouraging good habits. So if you want to get into exercise, move furniture around so that the remote is no longer easily accessible, or maybe move the snacks to a higher cabinet.
The surroundings themselves aren’t the only influence though; it’s also the people that matter. Surround yourself with friends and family that support your habits and it will be much easier to keep good habits as opposed to those who tempt you to stray away from them.
Of course, these methods might not always work. The environment and people around us have a way of influencing us that’s almost impossible to fend off at times. If you find that no matter what you do you can’t seem to keep good habits, try taking a break from the things that are problematic.
This might mean getting rid of the friends that encourage you to stray away from your goals or maybe it just means putting the snacks in a place that’s harder to get to. In any case, it’s okay to take a step back in order to move two steps forward. So if you feel like you need to take a break from something in order to better yourself, then do it without hesitation.
The smart goals approach is a great way of setting yourself up for success. You’re going to have a much easier time achieving your goals if you set them in the first place. So take the time to plan things out and make sure you give yourself enough time to achieve your goals as well.
Life is full of ups and downs and it isn’t always fun and games. But by following the smart goals approach, you can enjoy the thrills and excitement that come your way without stressing yourself out in the process.

For me personally, I have always found success by setting goals because I like knowing what I’m working towards.
However, during times in my life when I didn’t have any direction or purpose, I would fall into dangerous cycles of destructive behavior that ultimately held me back from reaching my goal.
Choose which approach is best for you and once you do reach your goal remember to set a new one because the journey is just as important as the destination!
