What Is A Desk Job Syndrome?
A desk job syndrome is when someone works from their home office all day long and never leaves it. They are not working with others or even interacting with anyone else at all!
The reason behind this is because they feel like they don’t have any other options. Some people think that if they were to go somewhere else, there would be a better opportunity for them. However, that’s not true; it depends on what kind of job you’re looking for and where you want to live.
If you want to become a doctor or lawyer, then you probably won’t find such jobs anywhere else but in your city or state. If you want to become a writer, then you’ll most likely have to move away from your hometown.
However, if you want to become a teacher or accountant, then chances are that you can do it anywhere. That’s why many people choose to stay at home and work from their homes instead of moving around.
Why Do People Work From Their Home Office All Day Long?
That’s because they don’t want the hassle of having to commute every single day to work. Also, many companies these days allow their employees to work from home since they understand the importance of saving energy and reducing unnecessary expenses.
If the company that you’re working for doesn’t have any office for you to go to then you’ll be working from your home office all day long.
Can You Get Desk Job Syndrome?
Of course you can get it, because even though you are working from home, you are still sitting down for a very long period of time. This can lead to health problems in the future such as metabolic syndrome, blood clots, diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer. That’s why is very important to take some time off every now and then to exercise.
What Are The Problems That One Can Expect To Have If They Don’t Get A Chance To Exercise?
If you’re sitting down all day long for most of the week then your health can decline quite a bit. You might gain weight and have a harder time losing it, trying to get your blood pressure under control, and getting your heart disease risk lowered.
This can lead to death if you don’t exercise on a regular basis and do not watch your weight.
What Do You Need To Do If You Are A Person That Sits Down All Day Long?
You need to take a break every now and then. Make sure to stretch your body from time to time and get up from your seat to walk around or take a short walk.
If you are feeling really adventurous, then you can try to exercise while working at the same time. Here are some ideas that you can try:
1. Try jogging in place while working.
This might sound silly, but it’s actually a great way to burn some calories and lose weight. You might feel a little wobbly or dizzy in the beginning, but you’ll get used to it after a few tries. Just don’t trip over your wires!
2. Do some push-ups or sit-ups in your breaks.
You can use this as a way of taking a short break from your work. Just don’t overdue it and then end up getting back pain. Start small and eventually work your way up to it.
3. Dance while working.
Turn on your favorite music and start busting a move. Dancing is a fun way to get fit and listen to music at the same time.
4. Go For A Walk.
If you have colleagues that also work from home, then you can all take a walk or a jog every couple of hours. This is a great way to get some exercise in and socialize with other people as well.
5. Play Sports.
You can go out and buy a basketball hoop for your driveway and play a few games of H-O-R-S-E with yourself or an imaginary opponent. You can also go out and get a football and throw it against your front door to catch some passes from your favorite quarterbacks.
6. Swim Laps In Your Pool.
If you have a pool in your backyard, then you might want to consider getting yourself a swim mask and swim fins. This will allow you to swim laps and get a good workout in every single time that you do it. You’ll be fit in no time at all! You can also go out and buy a volleyball net and a beach ball and play against yourself. If you want to be more adventurous, you can go out to a park or any other open area and actually play with other people.
6. Use A Workout Video Program. There are many workout videos that you can buy such as pilates, yoga, etc. that you can do from the comfort of your home.
7. Get An Exercise Bike Or A Desk Cycle.
7. Buy and Turn on Your Treadmill And Go For A Jog. If you have a treadmill in your house, then you can go for a jog every now and then. Make sure to set the incline to high and really punish your body for every single mile that you run. This is a great way to get exercise and burn off some of that stress that you’ve been building up at work all day long.
8. Go Swimming.
There are many public pools that you can go to and swim around in. It’s a great way to keep in shape and have fun at the same time.
9. If You Have The Money, Then You Can Also Take A Class.
There are many exercise classes that you can take such as P.E., Yoga, etc.
